Where we're headed

A place to recharge, not just get by

Long term, we'd like to help build a physical place with recreation, education, dental and other medical care—run in partnership with volunteer and paid professionals—where people with disabilities can spend a day or a few, have fun, learn, work and get paid, and where parents can genuinely recharge, not just hand off a chore.

Where this actually stands: this is a long-term goal, not something built yet. A project like this is a different kind of undertaking than this website: it likely means its own nonprofit, real fundraising, and years of work, not something we'd ever want to overpromise. We're not there yet, and we want to be honest about that rather than hint at something that doesn't exist.

In the meantime, real resources already doing pieces of this

While we work toward our own version of this, these organizations already do parts of it well, and are worth knowing about today.
